Vintage Korean Fabric Thimble Set of 5 – Handmade by My Grandmother | Rare Folk Textile Collectible
A rare set of 5 handmade Korean fabric thimbles created by my grandmother decades ago, mainly during the 1970s and 1980s.
Each piece was individually hand wrapped and stitched using traditional textile techniques, with one thimble often taking 2–3 days to complete by hand. These were not factory-made items, but carefully crafted works connected to Korea’s sewing and folk textile traditions.
Today, pieces of this style can be found in Korean museums and private textile collections, and this level of handmade quality has become increasingly difficult to find even within Korea.
Every thimble features rich colors, layered thread wrapping, and slight imperfections that reflect the handmade process and age of the pieces. They can be appreciated not only as sewing tools, but also as collectible folk art objects and heritage textile displays.
