Hi there. My name is Gareth, I live in Victoria, British Columbia, and since 1992 I’ve worked comic book retail at my comic shop Legends Comics. I sell my own vintage comics, long-lost comics from the basement of the shop, and consignment books that come in the door from local collectors. Follow along if you like to see what is unearthed next.

This ten-day auction is for an original Panic #9 from EC Comics, June/July 1955. 1st edition.

Poor condition.

34 pages. The spine has been taped and there are extra staples and lots of chips, the last two pages have town corners, and no back cover. Readable though.

Ten day auction, $1.00 opening bid. No reserve. I promise to make it easy, fast, and stress free.

Shipping prices are as follows:

Free local pick up at my shop. $15.00 within Canada with tracking numbers. I ship to the USA and international with tracking numbers via eBay’s international shipping hub.

That’s for the first item won. Each additional item is just an additional $1.00 per book. Message me when you’re ready for an updated invoice and I’ll send it along right away. Don’t feel pressure to pay immediately. I’ll make it as affordable as possible for you without losing too much money myself. Canada Post fluctuates but it’s still the cheapest route for me.

All comics are sent in t-folder Gemini things so they’ll arrive flat and safe. CGC books are boxed with lots of packing material. Buying lots? I’ll use very sturdy boxes with lots of packing material. Condition counts for a lot.

I DO COMBINE SHIPPING. If you are the high bidder on more than one item, let me know when you’re ready and I’ll send an updated invoice.

Americans: I love you and I of course have no problem selling comics to you but there’s been an issue lately that should be mentioned up front. It seems that when someone in the US wins a single book they pay and I mail it to a broker in Ontario on your behalf. I send about 20 packages a week to the same address in Mississauga, Ontario. It seems pretty basic and straightforward and they take care of the border issues and everyone gets their books quickly. No problems whatsoever. However, some of my customers have ordered like 50 books and then there’s no way that eBay allows me to make combined invoices for international transactions anymore. So, you have to pay shipping on all of the items. The way I found that works around this is that I refund all of the extra money to the buyer. However, it has now come to my attention that every American transaction the buyer is paying $25 to eBay. eBay gives me $15 per book and if I refund $15 per book the eBay price on the US side per book is still $10. I don’t know a way around this. If you can think of a way to have a smoother transaction, let me know. But, if there’s just one item you want, there’s no issue at all. It just gets weird in multiple transactions. Sorry about that. Not my fault.

All auctions are in Canadian Dollars, as I am in Canada.

Happy bidding. Email me if you have any questions.
