A wonderful antique round wooden bread board with "BREAD" carved in raised block letters along the upper edge. The reverse features a clean routed rim groove — a classic design element of traditional English and American bread boards of the late 19th to early 20th century. The cutting surface bears the beautiful patina and knife marks of a board that was used daily for generations, giving it the authentic primitive character that collectors love.
Measures approximately 9" in diameter. Made from a single disc of light-colored hardwood, consistent with sycamore or beech — the most common woods used for bread boards of this era. No maker's mark.
An ideal piece for a farmhouse kitchen, primitive decor collection, charcuterie display, or as the base for a glass dome display. These boards grow more beautiful with age and use.
