Parker was a photographer known for taking pictures of the Mojave Indians in the area of Needles, California, during the late 19th century. The photographs show the Mojave people during a period of transition in the late 1880s and 1890s, often around the railroad depot in Needles, which became a central hub in their territory. His photographs documented the Mojave people, including portraits of women with traditional face paint, necklaces, and baskets. 4 ¼” x 7”. Chipping along the edges is actually part of the image, so this is likely a period reissue of the original image. See scans.
