  • Description: A very nice antique ruby flash glass tumbler. The tumbler has a capacity of almost 8 fluid ounces. It has a round base with a 20-point star or leaves emanating from the center. The sides of the tumbler start with a short clear section having small oval dimples. The rest of the side of the tumbler is colored in ruby red and is engraved or etched with a beautifully detailed flower with leaves extending throughout the body of the glass. On the opposite side of the flower are the words "To Hannah" with a scroll below them nicely engraved of etched inn very nice decorative calligraphy. Unlike your run of the mill ruby flash glass ware, which is rather common, this piece is very well done artistically and the workmanship is second to none. The flower etching is very well done with great detail as is the engraving of the name. A great piece of Ruby Flash to add to your collection.   • Date: Unknown but most likely was made in late 1800s or early 1900s (Late 19th century or early 20th century).

  • Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania USA.

  • Size: The tumbler is ~3 3/4" tall and ~2 5/8" in diameter at the top with the base being ~2 1/2" in diameter. The piece has almost 8 fluid ounce capacity and weighs about 8.5 ounces.

  • Maker: Unknown.

  • Marks: Unmarked as to the maker.

  • Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice antique piece in very good condition to add to your collection of Ruby Flash Glass souvenirs.

  • Condition: The tumbler is in very good condition given it is over 100 years old. It has no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. The colors are vivid and with minimal losses. Unlike your run of the mill Ruby Flash glassware, which is rather common, this piece is very well done artistically and the workmanship is second to none. The flower etching is very well done with great detail as is the engraving of the name. The lettering is all there and because it is etched into the glass shows no losses. The surface has a few scratches and some minor losses to the red coloring. There are also remnants of glue from labels on the inside of the tumbler. Be that as it may, the piece is fantastic and would make a nice addition to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
