A wonderfully detailed vintage pewter figurine depicting an Officer of the German Musketeer Regiment von Bose, 1780 — one of the elite Hessian units that served with the British Army during the American Revolution. Complete and in very good condition, with its original box and historical pamphlet.

About the Musketeer Regiment von Bose: The German Musketeer Regiment von Bose is one of the most historically significant Hessian units of the American Revolution. Raised in 1701 as the Infantry Regiment von Schopping, it was named the Musketeer Regiment von Bose in 1778. Landing on Staten Island on August 12, 1776 as part of von Lossberg's Brigade, the regiment served extensively in New York and New Jersey before being sent south. They fought at the Battle of Springfield (June 23, 1780) and later at Guilford Courthouse and Green Spring in the southern campaign. In perhaps their most dramatic engagement, the regiment was manning Redoubt No. 9 at Yorktown on the night of October 14, 1781 — the very same redoubt famously stormed by the French Regiment de Royal Deux-Ponts. After Yorktown, the regiment garrisoned in New York City until December 1783, when they sailed for home via Quebec.

Condition Notes: Very good condition. Sword is complete and intact. Pamphlet shows some age-related yellowing consistent with its vintage. Original tissue packing remains in box. Please review all photos carefully before purchasing.
