K/S Historical Publications Pewter Miniature – Coehorn Mortar, 1673–1873
Up for sale is a beautifully detailed vintage pewter miniature of the historic Coehorn Mortar, produced by K/S Historical Publications of Saddle River, New Jersey. This piece is complete and in excellent condition, still nestled in its original tissue-lined box with the original historical pamphlet.

About the Coehorn Mortar: Invented by Dutch military engineer Baron van Menno Coehoorn, the Coehorn was first used in 1673 and became one of the most versatile artillery pieces in military history. Small enough for two men to carry in a supply wagon, it lobbed high-trajectory projectiles into enemy fortifications. It saw use from the American Revolution — at the sieges of Boston and Yorktown — through the Civil War, where both Union and Confederate forces used it extensively in trench warfare. Its final documented use in America came in 1873, when the 4th U.S. Artillery deployed it against the Modoc Indians in the lava beds of Northeastern California.
Condition Notes: Excellent condition. The figurine is complete and undamaged. Original tissue packing is intact inside the box. Box shows light age wear on exterior. A wonderful display piece for any collector of military history, artillery miniatures, or American Revolutionary/Civil War memorabilia.
