Vintage NeXT Computer Mouse Part Number 193

For sale- a Vintage NeXT Computer Mouse, Part Number 193.  This would be the non-ADB NeXT mouse, compatible with the N4000A monitor.  Before you go reaching for your credit card, as you can see it is missing the cable that would connect it to the monitor.  I don’t know what disaster befell the thing but the cord was either broken or cut off, so as is you’ve got bupkus.

Also as you can see, four screws and the mouse comes apart giving you easy access to the place where the cable is supposed to plug in.  I did have a world class collection of NeXT vintage stuff but I just turned this up in the warehouse.  When I had said world class collection I had more than a few of these guys, and when I was moving them around one day I dropped one.  It landed badly and one of the two mouse buttons no longer clicked when you clicked it.  I had another one that the cable had been cut or broken, I swapped the good cable into the good mouse and good to go.  So I know it’s an easy process IF you have the whole cable (and presumably a busted mouse).

I will also point out that the little glide strips on the bottom on this one are in really nice condition, many of the other ones I sold they were looking a little rough.  So not much use on this one in comparison although you might have to clean the ball socket and sensors, as I recall at least one buyer mentioned they had to do that.  Obviously I cannot test it but both buttons produce the expected “click”.

All items are sold as is with no warranty offered unless one is specifically stated.  However, IF you pay the Buy It Now price and find a problem that you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it for a refund of the purchase price.  Accepted Best Offers are strictly as is sale and no returns will be accepted.  Any testing done will be explicitly stated in the listing and any accessory items will also be mentioned or pictured.  If it isn’t pictured or mentioned you can assume it is not part of the sale.
