Selling on behalf of my daughter, although the car has been in our family since 2011. The car was originally mine, I purchased it with 600 miles on the clock from a Mini Dealer in Wolverhampton, prior to that it had been registered to BMW UK. I owned the car until around 122k miles, then gave it to my daughter to replace her aging R50 mini.
During my ownership the car was maintained by me to a very high standard (I am a retired automotive product development engineer). The vehicle was serviced at BMW intervals by Mini dealers until 5 years/80 miles, thereafter I serviced it annually/every 10000 miles. During that time I performed many upgrades:
- Mini Cooper S larger discs and calipers fitted (discs are ATI vented with rain clearance slots)
- Mini Cooper S front anti-roll bar fitted
- Front Wishbones fitted with powerflex polybushes
- Rear Alta 19mm adjustable anti-roll bar fitted
- Rear anti-rollbar powerflex polybushes fitted
- Eibach stiffened and lowered (30mm) springs fitted all round
- Adjustable rear control arms fitted (to adjust out the negative camber of the lowered springs to prevent uneven tyre wear)
- Shorter drop links fitted to suit the lowered springs
- Scorpion stainless steel large bore exhaust fitted
- 80% tinted film added to all windows rear of the drivers and passengers side
- Front subframe epoxy coated at around 120k
- New LUK clutch fitted at around 120k
The wheels are alloy 5 spoke star blaster and fitted with branded tyres (3 Goodyear Efficient Grip, One Nankang). The car condition can be seen in the photographs. The bonnet has quite a lot of stone chips and some are going rusty,this is not uncommon on minis, there is also a little crazing of the paint on one corner of the bonnet. The car colour is interchange yellow.
Last year my daughter advised me that there was a loud groaning noise coming from the front of the car down by her feet. From what she described it sounded like either wheel bearings or centre offside driveshaft bearing, but without a proper inspection, I can't be sure. I moved to the coast a while back and I didn't think it was wise for her to attempt to drive it to me to fix it, so I agreed to let her borrow my Cooper S until I could travel to Leamington Spa to fix it. Time passed, my daughter got rather attached to my Cooper S, my ability to grovel under cars to fix them diminished with my health, and the poor old mini was forgotten about, until neighbors complained it was taking up space in the communal car park. In the meantime the MOT has expired. The car has done around 145k miles and has never failed an MOT.
I am listing the car with a low starting price for a quick sale and the starting price is only a little more than we have been offered for scrap.
The car will need to be collected (trailer or recovery vehicle) as it is not road legal without an MOT, it is the buyers responsibility to arrange that. It needs to be collection within 24 hours of the auction ending. If you are unable to do that please don't bid. I reserve the right to cancel the sale if the car is not collected within 24 hours.
The car is ideal for mini enthusiasts for spares or as a DIY repair. If you do decide to bid, good luck and I hope it goes to a good home and can be restored to it's former glory.

It has been parked up for the last 6 months and the battery is totally flat, prior to that it was used daily. The safest option is to assume it won't start, although I would hope it will.
On 05-May-26 at 12:08:25 BST, seller added the following information:Further update. Managed to get hold of some jump cables and confirmed the engine does start if jumped from another car and the mileage is 139,492 miles. But the battery is completely flat, so jump leads will be required to start it. I have uploaded a video showing it started which is currently under review by ebay, hopefully it will arrive soon. In the meantime I have uploaded a video to YouTube with the title "Mini One R56 YK10 Engine Running" hopefully by searching for that, you will be able to see it.
