Gibson Sonex-180 Deluxe Mod Ebony w/hard case USED

Description

Good Condition! w/hard case
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Gibson launched the ambitious "Sonex" series as a new approach.
This is a 1980 Sonex-180 Deluxe, the core model of the series.
It features a body made of a then-new material called "multiphonic," combined with a bolt-on maple neck, a design that sets it apart from traditional Gibson guitars. Although born as a cost-reduced model, it possesses a unique compression and fast attack, making it a kind of Gibson maverick.

It is equipped with two original pickup units engraved with "SONEX-180 DELUXE." The Velvet Brick's characteristic midrange projection and punchy sound don't get lost even when distorted, and produce a tone with presence even when played roughly.

While it has a different character from the classic Les Paul, its ruggedness and straightforwardness are precisely what make this guitar so appealing. This model is perfectly suited to punk/alternative music and simply offers the joy of playing.

A mini-switch, likely for phase switching, has been added between the control knobs.
The string pins have been replaced with locking pins, but the locking parts are missing.
There is paint chipping on the back edge of the body. Several areas show sheen due to the matte finish's characteristic reaction.
The headstock has paint chips, wood chips, and dents. Overall, there are scratches, dents, and metal rust, indicating signs of wear.
The neck shows a slight bend on the 1st string side, along with twisting and warping. The frets have been leveled, and playability is currently fine. However, fret wear is progressing, and depending on future use, refretting may be necessary.
