 * 1940's Elwell Garden Spade No 2 *

The condition is excellent as pictured, it was recently cleaned, oiled and restored for protection. Vintage English steel, much stronger than on the newer tools.

This one is a small to medium sized spade, suitable possibly for general garden or allotment use. 93cm long with a 20cm wide head and 23 cm cut depth. 

This is a rare early Elwell model. I have had a few of the model number 1's in my time, but only one of this model No. 2 3605 with the early Elwell hand written style logo. It's been cleaned up and restored by my father who was a professional tool maker for 45 years, his ethos is that these quality tools should be used again for their original purpose. 

However, what does he know - most of these end up being sold as movie or theatre props, museum exhibits or collectors items. He should stop making them look so nice.
