1940s Alcyon frame, 56cm ctoc (22 inch). S/N 100511.
A rare frame, with period correct wheelset included, flip/flop rear hub.

A beautiful classic French racing bike, from one the most famous French names.
Many famous champions rode Alcyon bikes during the 1920s and 1930s like Gaston Rebry, Romani Maes, Sylvere Maes, Paul Maye and Alberic 'Briek' Schotte.

Good clean head badge. One pump peg is broken off. No dents and cracks, and will make a great restoration project. Has been overpainted in a dark red (emulsion, I think) and the original iconic kingfisher blue is to be seen underneath. With a standard household paint stripper the top coat can be loosened and removed revealing the original finish and presumably the transfers also.

Includes a seat post binder, front brake hanger and original headset and a bottom bracket.

Serial number: 100511 on the underside of the BB (see picture).

Seat tube measures 21.75 inch (56cm) centre to centre and 55cm (21 inches) centre to centre top tube. 135mm headtube height. 120mm rear drop out width on the rear drop outs which are by Simplex.

Collection from West Somerset or UK delivery is by ParcelForce 48hrs for £19.95.
