The M-Tas brand has developed a shoulder protection with ballistic packages 1A for the M-Tas plate carrier of the Cuirass QRS model, which significantly increases the area of protection of the fighter's body. The product is a compact shoulder module that provides anti-fragmentation protection of the biceps, shoulder joint and arteries.
It is recommended to attach this protective element to the M-Tas gorget with ballistic packages 1A for the Cuirass QRS or to the shoulder platform of the M-Tas plate carrier Cuirass QRS. The shoulder protection is attached to the shoulder part of the plate carrier using Velcro. A plastic frame with a D-ring lock serves as a connecting element and helps to remove the shoulder system if necessary. Special attention was paid to the anatomical shape of the product when developing the shoulder protection. The module is designed in such a way that the height of attachment to the plate carrier is adjustable thanks to a vertical strap with Velcro. The shoulder protection is also adjustable according to the size of the arm and is fixed with a special horizontal strap.
Considerable efforts of the designers were aimed at maintaining the maneuverability of the fighter when using shoulder ballistic protection. This design does not conflict with other elements of equipment and provides a sufficient degree of freedom of movement.
The shoulder pads are made of Cordura 500D and are equipped with ballistic packages that protect against ricochets and fragments. The armor packages are made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and comply with STANAG 2920 with a V-50 fragmentation resistance index of about 614.5 m/s.
