Elizabeth Enright's Thimble Summer

Beautiful story and illustrations by Enright, including childhood memories of visiting her uncle Frank Lloyd Wright's farm homestead in Wisconsin. Tight, secure binding. Enright's second published book, for which she won the Newbery Medal at age 30 in 1939.

Lots of chips at the edges of the dust jacket. The price of the jacket is clipped. Wear at the edges of the spine. Water stain on the back of the jacket. Inscription inside front cover. Illustrations are bright and colorful.  3" Tear in the back of the jacket. Please check the photos.

Looks like an early printing, except that the publisher is not Farrar Rinehart, it's Rinehart & Company which with the inscription of 1956 dates this to around that time.
