Carrie & Lowell is Sufjan Stevens’ seventh studio album—a deeply personal and emotionally raw meditation on grief, memory, and forgiveness. Inspired by the death of his mother, Carrie, and his stepfather Lowell, the album returns to the stripped-back folk stylings of Seven Swans, with delicate acoustic arrangements and intimate vocals.
This US pressing is presented on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl and includes a printed inner sleeve with lyrics, a 12" insert, and a download card. The 2019 reissue features a new lacquer cut by Josh Bonati, identifiable by updated runout etchings and packaging details.
