This mini-comic zine takes panels from Jim Davis’s Garfield strips and recontextualizes them into a meditation on depression and ennui, using the perfectly panels from dozens of different strips to play Garfield and Jon’s quiet times against the joke-a-day structure of the strip. Presumably inspired by Garfield Without Garfield, an internet joke turned meme that turned Jon into a possible hallucinating hermit with an imaginary cat, this comic keeps Jon but includes many silent panels to break the rhythm of the three panels. It’s possible that this is a print version of “Garfield is Alone” a webcomic last posted in 2021 that played into the depressive angle, but I don’t know if this is related at all.
I don't know who produced it, and I don't know for sure when it was released. I think I got my copy in the last five years, but I may have had it for longer.
