The main LCD screen does not show an image. So It must be used with the viewfinder or with an external output to view playback. All other functions are working and playback is clear and the sensor is working if you'd like to record with this setup. However this camcorder would best be used for a playback or transfer rig. It includes a remote to control the playback functions as well as an AV cable, power adapter, battery and a bag. The button presses still register on the screen you just have to look at the viewfinder or other output to see where the buttons are located. Or just use the remote.
