Green Sugar Apple (Annona squamosa) is an edible tropical fruit, and is also called sugar apple or sweetsop. The name sugar apple says it all. As you can guess, its flesh has a pleasant sweet flavor and a very juicy texture. Some people find the taste of sugar apples very refreshing, similar to that of other tropical fruits like pineapple and banana. But for most, its taste is distinctly creamy, like that of custard.

When fully ripe, the Green Sugar Apple gives off a sugary sweet aroma and is soft enough to be split open with just your fingers. Its flavor is akin to tropical fruits like mango and pineapple with berry-like tones and a noticeable vanilla custard finish.
