Before he turned it into a fantastic graphic novel, BEN PASSMORE put out a 12 page mini comic titled YOUR BLACK FRIEND. This incisive personal view is very much about the Black experience, but also about the individual experience and how anyone can struggle to meet the demands of the society around them. Like many an artist, he pushes back against all kinds of assumptions. And points out how ignorant folks can really be in a really funny, cringey way. Silver Sprocket, 2016.
There are many versions of this mini, including later versions from Silver Sprocket and earlier versions in black and white, but I think this is the first color version. The back cover is different than later versions.
