This Classics Illustrated spin-off series featured huge volumes—this one is 84 pages!—with long titles about historical events. The full title is THE WORLD AROUND US: THE ILLUSTRATED STORY OF THE NAVY. It features a decidedly Western and Christian view of history, but is interesting nonetheless. This issue features artists like Joe Orlando, Everett Kinstler, Gerald McCann, Sam Glanzman, and a classic painted cover by Gaylord Welker. Gilberton, 1959

CONDITION NOTES: VG+. Very nice reader copy. Some minor creases and edge damage, including splits at the top and bottom of the spine. The paper at the bottom edge of the cover is getting brown and will get brittle, but the rest is very solid and will hold up to plenty of reading. Cover color is good but there is a stamp and the remnants of an old sticker - this collection had Woolworth stickers on them that look like they are from the 60s or 70s. (Grading is based on a careful examination of the flaws.)
