Up for sale is a beautiful, large-scale example of functional studio art pottery by noted California ceramicist Ed Keesling.
This substantial piece features Keesling's signature "cone 10" reduction-fired stoneware. The glaze is a striking earth-toned "drip" style that reflects the natural landscape of the High Desert and Morongo Basin where his studio is located. Hand-thrown on the wheel, the pot features elegant integrated side handles and a high-domed lid with a classic pulled handle.
As a graduate of Antioch University with an MFA in ceramics, Keesling’s work is highly regarded for its balance of brutalist influence and everyday functionality. This is a "collector-grade" piece due to its significant size and clear artist signature on the base.
