Brief characteristics
It is impossible to predict where an enemy bullet or fragments will come from, so it is worth taking care of your own safety in advance. The M-Tac brand has developed and released a new generation of BALLISTIC GROIN PROTECTION GEN.II 2nd CLASS OF PROTECTION (FMS), which significantly increases the area of anti-fragment protection of the fighter's body.

The main feature of this model is the change of fastex on the side mounts. The M-Tac Ballistic Groin Protection GEN.II 2nd Class of Protection (FMS) uses HD NT SR Auto Cam Lock from the Korean company Woojin. Thanks to the toothed elements, they allow you to securely fix the slings in the desired position, without changing it during active use.

Also, the second generation provided a valve with Velcro fastening. Its main task is to fix the module in the center of the tactical belt to prevent its displacement during operation.

The module consists of a central and two side panels connected to each other. Due to the fact that the side elements of the module are movable, it will not cause discomfort during active physical exertion (running, squatting, walking, etc.). On the sides of the module, a MOLLE system is provided, made using Laser Cut technology. If necessary, additional equipment of the appropriate size can be attached to it.

The groin protection is attached to the tactical belt using fasteners located on the side parts. The main part of the fastener is made of Cordura 500D using Laser Cut technology, in the form of a segment of the MOLLE system. For strength, a Tegris thermoplastic composite was added between the two layers of Cordura.

The elongated part of the side fasteners is alternately “woven” between the MOLLE system of the tactical belt and the side fasteners of the groin protection. The advantage of this attachment is that it is extremely reliable and does not interfere with the subsequent integration of the equipment into the tactical belt.

On the lower part of the groin protection there is a sling, the end of which is equipped with a Grip Toggle frame manufactured by the Korean company WOOJIN. This sling plays the role of fixing the lower part of the ballistic protection to the tactical belt. Such fixation leaves the MOLLE system on the tactical belt open, thereby not interfering with its further use.

The quick release system of the groin protection is carried out thanks to the fastex manufactured by the Italian company Woojin, which are located on each part of the module (one on each side and at the bottom).

The groin protection is made of Cordura 500D - a super-strong material resistant to abrasion and high loads. Also, this item of equipment is equipped with a ballistic package designed to protect against ricochets and fragments. It is made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and complies with STANAG 2920 with a V-50 fragmentation resistance index of about 758.6 m/s.

To understand the analogy with bulletproof resistance, an armor package with a similar composition corresponds to class 2 (7.62*25 Pst) according to DSTU 8782:2018 and withstands a shot of 9 × 18 mm, (9 mm Makarov), 9 × 19 mm, (9 mm Luger, 9 mm Parabellum) from pistols and carbines chambered for a pistol cartridge and 7.62 × 25 mm, (7.62 × 25 Tokarev).

(Class 2 refers to the equivalent in composition, which is tested on standard samples of 400x400mm. Therefore, the impact injury may differ on samples of smaller size and shape).

To increase the area of anti-fragmentation protection, the manufacturer recommends combining ballistic groin protection with M-TAS ABDOMINAL PROTECTION WITH BALLISTIC PACKAGE 1 CLASS OF PROTECTION. Due to the design, these types of protection will not conflict with each other, providing comfort during operation and reliable protection against bullets and fragments. Abdominal protection is available in the following variations:

CORDURA is a super-strong nylon material designed for extreme operating conditions. It is highly resistant to abrasion, tearing and moisture. It is widely used in the production of tactical equipment, as it ensures a long service life of products under conditions of intensive use.
