8.5” black enameled metal Commodore Vanderbilt 0-4-0 loco, is a wind-up made mid to late 1930’s. It has a black NYC Lines oval plate on the pilot, tarnished tinplate trim, very clean/shiny tinplate wheels with drive-rods. Boiler is early version with more-rounded pilot and has the extruded accessory hole on the front of the RH side skirt. This hole was intended for battery-lighting, but was not developed and the hole disappeared on later models. Original glossy-black finish has only light wear, much better than usually found. Key is not included, but I did test the motor, It winds and runs, has bell and brake, no sparker. It ran in-hand and across the table when tested. Sold as is, no operation warranty due to age. Includes 6” black tin litho NYC tender that has some playwear scratches, but is shiny clean. It has sliding tab couplers, tinplated frame has been polished and wheels are clean. Loco and tender.
