A refined 1982 collaboration between bassist Ron Carter and pianist Cedar Walton, Heart and Soul captures two jazz masters in deep conversational flow. Their interplay is effortless yet intricate, moving with elegance through standards, originals and reimagined classics. From the lyrical warmth of “Heart & Soul” to the storytelling swing of “Frankie and Johnny” and the introspective beauty of “Little Waltz”, the album highlights their shared intuition and expressive command. A timeless document of two artists whose musical dialogue remains unmatched.
