This porcelain dinner plate was made by Samuel Alcock circa 1845-50 , and bears the pattern number 2/1709 on the base .
It is decorated with a hand painted central flower within a cobalt blue border and enriched with gilding .
It measures 9 3/8" in diameter .
It is in good condition with no chips or cracks and the gilding is good .
There are some surface scratches in the centre on the leaves from use and some fine glaze crazing .
