This is a stunning 19th-cenrtury French buffet a deux corps crafted in the Louis XVI style, dating 1870-1900. It's solid walnut with an exceptionally rich, warm honey-brown patina that has developed beautifully with age.
It has a central glazed display cabinet with a 12-panel mullioned glass door flanked by two solid cabinet doors in the upper hutch. Decorative turned columns frame the display case and bottom cabinet with elaborate hand-carved floral & foliate shield cartouches on each door panel. And, it's topped with a carved crown molding with dentil-style detailing.
I should mention that the marble top alone is estimated at $800 in value, since it's the original French grey-veined marble.
