Original oil on canvas depicting a man sitting at a table, dating from the 1920s, by the French painter Auguste Barthon (1878-1939). The painting is not signed, it has a workshop stamp on the back, from an auction of the workshop background of the artist on April 13, 2003.
This work exudes a great simplicity, perhaps even a kind of rurality: one imagines the end of a meal, the table is not yet completely cleared, we kept the baguette and the glass carafe, the white cotton tablecloth. And the look of this man who seems lost in his thoughts!
It's in its found condition, please note: signs of age and wear and tear, paint peeling in places. All the details are visible in the photos, please take a good look at them in detail, they are part of the product description! Keep in mind that this is an antique painting, its marks and imperfections make it a unique piece with a story!
