I'm excited to offer an extensive matched set of Qianlong period (1736-1795) Chinese Export Porcelain. This set has over 40 pieces including a teapot with lid, a coffee pot with lid, a milk jug with lid, two tea caddies, 12 teacups and 16 saucers (There are 5 smaller cups with 5 saucers, and 7 larger cups with 11 saucers) two covered jars, two bowls, one helmet creamer, and 3 serving dishes in graduated sizes. The set is from the export company Compagnie Des Indes, also called French East India Company. This set is hand decorated in red with large and small flower sprays and sprigs. There is gold gilt trim, and gilding within the designs, and on the finials of the lids.
The set is in good condition with some of the expected wear that you would find on porcelain that is over 250 years old. There are some fleabites, flakes and blemishes. There is some wear to the gold gilding, and several pieces have fading to the red design. There are some pinholes in the surface, bumps in the glaze and a few exterior nicks. I've used a UV light to examine each piece and will do my best to report what I have observed on each piece as I provide the measurements below. The finials, spouts and handles on all pieces look very good, only with the handles on two small tea cups showing a couple tiny cracks. And one of the lidded jars has a repair or touch up to the finial on the lid.
Here are the approximate measurements and detailed condition for each item. Coffee Pot with Lid- 8 1/2" tall to top of lid, 5 3/8" wide, 7" long from handle to spout. This has one small exterior chip to the body, on the side of the pot.
Teapot with Lid- 9 1/4" long from handle to spout, 5 1/4" wide, 5 3/8" tall. This has two hairline cracks to the exterior on either side of where the base of the handle attaches. Only a small part of this crack is visible from the inside. Please see the last photo for a closeup using UV light. These are very hard to see without the blacklight
Milk Jug with lid- 4 3/8" long from handle to spout, 3 " wide, 5 3/4" tall.
2 Tea Caddies- One is slightly taller at 4 3/4", and the other is 4 1/2". Both are approximately 2 7/8" wide, 1 1/2" thick. One has a small exterior chip to the shoulder, on the side. There is a closeup in the second to last photo.
2 Lidded Jars- 5" tall to the top of the finial, 4 3/8" wide. Both have some color fading. One has a repair or touchup to the finial on the lid. This same lid has a hairline crack starting at the rim, about 1 1/2" long. One has medium sized spider crack to interior bottom, not visible to the exterior.
2 Bowls- 5 5/8" wide and 2 1/2" tall. One bowl has some flakes and roughness to the rim. The other bowl has a hairline crack starting at the rim, measuring about 1 1/2".
Helmet Creamer- 4 3/4" tall to the handle, 5 3/4" long from handle to pouring lip, 3 1/8" wide. This has one small chip to the rim, on the side, near the back. This is photographed in the 3rd from the last photo
3 Serving Dishes in Graduated Sizes- Large is 8 1/4" by 7 1/4" by 1 3/4". Medium is 7 1/2" by 6 1/4" by 1 3/8". Small is 5 7/8" by 4 3/4" by 1". The medium size dish has some color fading.
Larger Tea Cups and Saucers, 7 cups and 11 saucers- Cups are 3 1/8" wide not including the handle, 1 7/8" tall. Saucers are 5 1/4" in diameter and 1 1/8" in height. Cups look very good; one has small crack under 1". Saucers also look very good, no cracks, a couple have a small chip on the foot, and some have roughness there.
Small Tea Cups and saucers, 5 cups and 5 saucers- Cups are 2 3/4" wide not including the handle, 1 5/8" tall. Saucers are 4 5/8" in diameter and 1 1/8" in height. 2 cups have small hairline cracks beginning at the rim, about half an inch long. One of those cups also has two tiny cracks to the handle. Another cup has two tiny cracks where the handle attaches to the body. One saucer has a tiny rim chip.
The set is quite remarkable and looks beautiful. I am experienced in shipping fragile items and will ship this set in 2 or more boxes to keep the weight down and be sure there is ample cushioning. I use plenty of bubble wrap and packing peanuts. I also double box or wrap pieces in cardboard, always protecting handles and spouts, before placing them in a sturdy shipping box. Shipping will include insurance and tracking. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you would like additional photos and closeups. Thank you for visiting my listing!
