This is a traditional Japanese vintage hanging scroll (Kakejiku) depicting Empress Jito, one of the revered poets from the Hyakunin Isshu (One Hundred Poets, One Poem Each). This work is a fine reproduction based on the style of the famous Edo-period painter Kano Tan-yu, capturing the noble elegance of the Empress alongside the world of classical waka poetry. It is an ideal piece for adding a touch of historical sophistication to a Tea Ceremony room or a Zen meditation space.
