Journal of the expedition in which Shevchenko suffered the fate.
Portrait of the author and reproduction of Shevchenko’s aquarium on stickers.
Why is this book important for Shevchenko scholars:
Oleksiy Butakov, a ceramicist of the expedition, under the official fence, including Shevchenko in the warehouse of the team as an artist for painting the shores and islands.
Although the name of the deported poet was often denounced through censorship restrictions at that time in the original reports, the comments before 1953 described in detail the role of Shevchenko as a cartographer-artist.
The date of 1953 is filled with reproductions of some of the little ones and maps that Butakov and Shevchenko worked on.
