The book provides an ideological and artistic analysis of films dedicated to Taras Shevchenko and the heroes of his works. Special attention is paid to the importance of the Shevchenko film genre for the creative practice of screen masters. Based on archival documents, the author corrects many significant errors, inaccuracies and misinterpretations that have been encountered in film literature for many years when analyzing Shevchenko's films.
