NearestPlane connects to your WiFi and silently watches the skies, pulling live ADS-B flight data to find the nearest aircraft to your location. The moment a plane comes into range, it lights up: airline name in that airline’s actual brand colour, flight number, route, altitude, speed, and more — all scrolling across a vivid 64×32 LED matrix.

What it shows

Every field is individually configurable — show exactly what you care about, hide what you don’t:

∙ ✈ Airline name — displayed in the airline’s real brand colour (British Airways in deep blue, easyJet in orange, Ryanair in navy, Emirates in red, and hundreds more)

∙ 🔢 Flight number — IATA format (BA249, U21234, EK101)

∙ 🗺 Route — origin and destination airport codes (e.g. LHR–JFK)

∙ 🛩 Aircraft type — A320, B777, E195 etc.

∙ 📏 Distance — how far the aircraft is from your location in miles

∙ 🧭 Bearing — where the aircraft is in relation to you (e.g. 310NW — look northwest!)

∙ 📐 Heading — the direction the aircraft is actually flying

∙ 🔼 Altitude — with climb (+) and descent (−) indicators

∙ 💨 Ground speed — in knots
