This is the only three cent coin ever issued in Canada.  In 2001, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced a special three cent commemorative coin in gold plated sterling silver to mark the 150th Anniversary of Canada’s First Postage Stamp, the 3 Pence Beaver in 1851.  A 24k gold plated postage stamp and a regular commemorative postage stamp are also included.
