The cup shape popping cork hit the water surface to create a splash, which create great splashing noise and action when popped, best for choppy conditions or the water is very murky and fish is active.  The oval shape make lower noise than cup shape float, suit for choppy conditions or the water is murky and fish is active.  The cigar shape makes little sound, suit for very calm or clear water and fish is not active.
