The Yashica FX-D Quartz camera is a vintage SLR camera from the 1980s, made in Japan. It features a manual focus system and a built-in light meter for accurate exposure settings. The camera comes with a Tamron 80-210mm 3.8 lens, a FX Winder, and a Holdall Kit, making it a complete package for film photography enthusiasts. *PLEASE NOTE* We have elected to list this as 'For parts or not working', due some intermittent issues we encountered on testing. Some of these issues may be down to our not having any experience with this model.
Acquired in a photographic job lot in a general auction.
Camera has been previously used & may have some signs of cosmetic wear which is commensurate with age. Manually the camera shutter & wind on work normally. With batteries fitted, (NOT inc) the light meter failed to display a reading. We're not convinced the batteries are making a 'clean' connection, (the battery holder looks like it may possibly have/had some corrosion & the plastic holder has been 'chewed' making tightening the connection difficult, (see photos). When testing the electronic timer, the audio 'bleep' transmitted, but it failed to 'fire' the shutter. With some persistence we achieved a connection & both features functioned as normal.(See more below).
We would recommend this be replaced.
When first tried the winder worked normally, after trying new batteries for light meter, we had difficulty getting it to work again. This could also be down to not having encountered this model before.
Overall we think the camera is good, we may be over critical in our description, but we try to be totally transparent.
Tamron lens looks in nice condition. It is fitted with a Y/C, (Yashica/Contax adapter mount), Hoya UV Filter & comes with front lens cover.
