This is a 50^th Anniversary issue of Margaret Mitchell’s classic Gone With the Wind, and a portrait of the author can be found after the half-title page. Macmillan Publishing published this special hardback edition in a slipcase in 1986 and also celebrates the 60^th anniversary of The Book-of–the-Month Club. Featured is a new introduction by author and journalist Tom Wicker. This large volume has 947 pages followed by a page each about Margaret Mitchell, Tom Wicker and the Book-of-the-Month Club. It has burgundy covers, bright gilt cover and spine writing, and there is a gray ribbon bookmark sewn in. The gray slipcase has black writing and also has the portrait of the author on each side.

Slipcase shows some wear on edges and corners; owner identification neatly written inside from cover and on bookplate inside back cover. All pages are clean and unmarked and the binding is strong.
