It has a hard structure and fine grit for the final edge refinement of knives, carpentry tools, and Japanese razors. It is mined from Shohonyama in Kyoto and features a Kuro Asagi (dark grayish blue) coloration. The sharpening surface is flattened. Sharpening with water and a light touch delicately refines the edge, elevating sharpness as the final step after medium finishing.
