Vintage Zuni
Turquoise Ring Sterling Silver Channel Inlay Size 9 Native American
As imaged.
Signed however, blurred.
- Style:
Channel Inlay. The stones are set into silver channels separated by thin
metal walls, creating a smooth, flush surface.
- Pattern:
Asymmetrical geometric/mosaic pattern.
- Stone:
Sleeping Beauty or similar high-grade blue turquoise. The uniform color
and lack of heavy matrix are desirable traits.
- Metal:
Likely Sterling Silver. In the fourth and seventh images, there is
a faint hallmark inside the band. It appears to be stamped
"STERLING" and may include an artist’s signature or initials,
though it is quite worn.
- Size:
Based on the ring mandrel photos, this is a US Size 9.
- Band Width:
The face of the ring has a tapered, signet-style bypass or rectangular
frame that narrows toward the back of the band.
- Wear:
There is visible "pocket wear" or surface scratching on the
silver. This is common for vintage pieces and gives it a nice patina, but
a light buffing with a jewelry cloth could brighten it up.
- Inlay Integrity:
The turquoise appears to be intact with no missing "tiles" or
significant cracks, which is the most important factor for the value of
channel inlay.
