This is a good 5 string zither banjo with a great tone and lots of sustain typical of zither banjos.  The banjo was made by Windsor of Birmingham, most likely in the 1920s, and is their Eclipse model 11.   The Windsor logo badge can be seen on the heal of the instrument  and the maker's name can also be seen inscribed on the machine head.

The instrument has all the usual features you would expect from a zither banjo including the tunelled 5th string and the heavy tone ring.

Although not new it's in good condition with no damage that I can see.  The wood and metal parts are shiny and bright. My string gauge tells me that string action is 2.75mm at the 12th fret so it's a nice instrument to play.  Tuners are attractive and are all working well and strings  are new.  The vellum is nice and tight, contributing to the good tone.  There is really no wear to the frets or finger board.

The banjo is 89cm long.  Its a 28cm pot and the scale length is 61cm.  At the top nut the neck width is 3.9cm.  Tuners are working well and the neck is straight.

Everything will be carefully boxed for posting.
