ITEM DESCRIPTION:  Up for sale is a hard-to-findvintage, Nov. 11, 1954, issue of JET "Weekly Negro News Magazine", a great example of 1950's Black Americana. Features the famous Tuskegee Airmen Commander as well as pilot Colonel Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. on page 5. He is shown receiving his star by General Earl Partridge to promote him to Brigadier General, the first black man to ever hold this rank in the Air Force. Also, features a "Drag Ball" on page 15, black boxers, and the Chicago model Marlene Fitzhugh on the cover. In good condition with a tiny tear to bottom corner of the back cover, some dog-eared pages, and bit of damage to couple of top right corners. See last photo. Please, carefully examine the photos to best judge the condition of the magazine for yourself.
