This is an authentic antique 1920s wooden Mahjong storage box from Kwang Li Yuen Co. Exporters, Shanghai, China. The case features a classic slide-up front panel and is constructed from a dark Asian hardwood, often identified as teak or mahogany. It is accented with traditional ornate brass hardware, including corner protectors, a top carrying handle, and a circular front pull.
  • Manufacturer: Kwang Li Yuen Co., No. 296 East Wuchang Road, Shanghai.
  • Era: Circa 1923–1930 (export period).
  • Material: Hardwood with polished brass fittings.
  • Features: Original paper merchant label on the back; slide-front entry.
  • Condition: Excellent vintage condition for its age. Wood has a rich, deep patina. Brass shows minor natural oxidation (no racks or tiles included).
