Time to move this fun piece to the next appreciative soul….such an enjoyable example of Seiko lore that I purchased January 2018 from Seiya-San in Japan. It has traveled the world with me, never babied, never abused. Bears some case-back scratches from NATO swaps and a Jack Foster I liked, but the crystal, dial, movement and stem are all in excellent condition. Keeps single and small double digit +\- time on the wrist, and +1/sec daily gain over 3 days when I recently left it face-up on the window sill. If you want a one-owner, legitimate Alpinist that bursts the green and tells the time better than advertised, look no further. Comes w warranty and date card and original strap.
P.S. I’ve found in retirement that I need a day indicator in addition to the date. Ha!!…toward that end, I’m after a Turtle w the Alpinist proceeds…..I really don’t want to let the SARB go….it fits the wrist perfectly and disappears except when you want the incredible burst of green…..but I simply don’t wear it like I did when I flew, and that day indicator is key.
