European Silver/ Silver Plate Mounted Coconut Cup/Bowl. 

The bowl was given as a gift from a noble aristocratic family and there is an inscription in French on the base describing this.

There are 2 makers marks reading MB with a symbol in a lozenge. On the underside and inside of the lip.

Like a lot of these cups it does not stand completely straight.

Measures approximately 21cm x 10cm.

The lozenge suggests it is French, but it could also be German or another European maker.
