  • Kokeshi (こけし kokeshi), are Japanese dolls, originally from Tohoku-northern Japan.
They are handmade from wood which are Mizuki or Kaede in Japanese, suit for making dolls.

Kokeshi have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face.
The body has their special hand-painted design, and covered with a layer of wax.

One characteristic of Creative Kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs,
and is formed by the free and unrestrained imagination of an individual artist. "

Japanese HIETSUKI Local doll with a drum and bell. She was handmade by Kihara Dolls in Japan. No two dolls from this factory are ever the same.
Her Dress Kimono is red with gold metallic thread, Her obi is Dark Blue.

She has a porcelain face that is still covered in plastic, the way she came from the factory. Her eyes are glass eyes.
Her feet and hands are plastic.
The seal of authenticity is on the platform by her feet, a Kanji signature on the drum.
