This item is a vintage reverse-painted silhouette picture on "convex glass", commonly referred to as "bubble glass". This reverse painting features a nautical scene depicting a captain and small sailor boy admiring the sea. The design features black silhouettes painted on the inside of curved glass, creating a 3D effect against a colorful background. These items were very popular in the 1920s through the 1950s.
