RARE Vintage New in the Box with Parts Still Sealed in their original plastic, this is the excellent Airfix #08301-4 1/32 Scale British A15 Crusader III World War II Tank, produced by Airfix with their Brand New Tooling in 1975. This kit features a detailed exterior with detailed wheels and suspension, flexible rubber tracks, commander figure, detailed main gun and turret, and markings for 2 tanks.

These kits are notorious for having tracks that harden up, become brittle, and break into hard pieces - this is a very rare example of this kit where it was kept in climate controlled storage for the last 50 years and the rubber tracks are still flexible and in new condition. With factory sealed versions of this kit, you will have no idea if this has happened to the tracks until you buy it and open it.

This kit includes decals for 2 tanks:
  1. British Army 8th Army Crusader III during the Western Desert Campaign at El Alamein in October 1942. The decals provided will allow you to build several different tanks during this time.
  2. British Army 6th Armoured Division Crusader III during the Tunisian Campaign in 1942. The decals provided will allow you to build several different tanks during this time.
The Crusader, officially "Tank, Cruiser Mk VI, Crusader", also known by its General Staff number A15, was one of the primary British cruiser tanks during the early part of the Second World War. Over 5,000 tanks were manufactured and they made important contributions to the British victories during the North African campaign. The Crusader III was up-gunned with the 57mm British 6-pounder, the first British tank to mount this gun. It also introduced the Mk. IV Liberty engine. Production of this version began in May 1942, and 144 were completed by July 1942. The Crusader III first saw action at the Second Battle of El Alamein in October 1942.
