The Arabia HLA series was made by Arabia's art department, making it a sought-after limited edition. The hand-painted decoration required a high level of skill and talented artist. Hilkka-Liisa Ahola (1920-2009) was one of Arabia's leading ceramists. She worked at the Arabia factory from 1947 to 1974 and left behind some iconic works of art that are exhibited in several museums in the Nordic countries.
