’Round About Midnight is the first Miles Davis album recorded for Columbia and the first studio document of his legendary First Great Quintet: John Coltrane on tenor sax, Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, Philly Joe Jones on drums, and Miles on trumpet.
Recorded in 1955–1956 and released in 1957, the album captures the group’s early chemistry and features definitive versions of ’Round Midnight and Bye Bye Blackbird, alongside standards and the traditional Dear Old Stockholm.
This 2026 Music On Vinyl reissue is pressed on 180‑gram crystal clear vinyl, housed in a deluxe linen‑laminated sleeve, and limited to 1500 individually numbered copies.
