1967 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK WITH 289 V8 ENGINE
The 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback is widely considered one of the most desirable iterations of the classic muscle car.
It introduced a more aggressive, muscular design compared to earlier models, featuring a widened front track for better handling and a 'swoopier' roofline that flowed seamlessly into the rear deck.
The 1967 Fastback features a 'two-plus-two' design, technically seating four but with a tight rear area.
It is distinguished by its concave rear tail panel and the introduction of separate triple-cluster taillights, a design cue still seen in modern Mustangs.
While it could be equipped with a range of engines, the most iconic was the 289 cu in (4.7L) V8 fitted in this car, producing around 271 hp.
The 'Deluxe' interior option often included chrome-rimmed dials, a padded double-hooded dashboard, and integrated convenience features like optional power steering and air conditioning (fed through distinctive rear louvers).
It is significantly rarer than the hardtop model; only about 71,000 Fastbacks were produced in 1967 out of over 400,000 total Mustangs that year. This
This superb example of the 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback showing just 88992 miles (unwarranted) is all a Mustang aficionado could want, being a left hand drive vehicle with the smooth automatic gearbox coupled to the magnificent 4727cc V8 engine.
With MOT until August 2026, this 'historic' car was comprehensively restored throughout by the former keeper in the US.
This car starts, runs and drives beautifully and sounds as one would expect.
It was noted at point of cataloguing that there is a slight weep of power steering fluid - confirmed to be a loose power steering return pipe
The former keeper has unfortunately mislaid the history file, so this vehicle comes with only its V5.
Accordingly- viewing is welcome to verify its restored condition.
