Arguably Bathurst's most iconic moment: the 1977 Hardie-Ferodo 1000's legendary 1-2 formation finish. Allan Moffat, teamed with Formula One and Le Mans star Jacky Ickx in the no.1 Ford XC Falcon GS500 Hardtop, stormed to victory, his record-equaling fourth Bathurst win. Right behind, in a display of teamwork and Ford dominance, came Colin Bond and Alan Hamilton in the no.2 sister car, crossing the line side-by-side in a scene that still gives chills. It was pure magic: Moffat's masterful drive through Mount Panorama's twists, the roar of those V8’s, and a finish that symbolized unity and excellence in Australian touring car racing.
